More Counties Tomorrow

Heading to central Texas tomorrow. It’s a day shoot so no lofty goals regarding the number of photos I will take and counties I will visit. I will post photos and an update this weekend.

Two Days and Ten Counties

Two days, nine counties from area 20 (and a portion of Duval County from area 18), and 967 miles produced 334 images. First and foremost, it was a BLAST! What a life! There is no greater teacher than experience and I learned a lot about shooting the rest of the state. (More on lessons learned in future blogs).

I am posting a couple of images for review and comments. I would love to hear what y’all think.

In addition to shooting letters, I found it impossible to not shoot some of the amazing sights along the way. One of my personal favorites is the Hogg County Court House in Hebbronsville, TX.

New Year’s Eve – Texas A to Z Project Begins

I am reviewing approximately 450 photos and am narrowing down the selections for the book LetterScapes: Houston A to Z. The process of photo selection for the first book will continue as I begin shooting LetterScapes: Texas A to Z in January 2011.

There are 254 counties in the state of Texas. The project consists of shooting letters (Letterscapes) in every county in the state of Texas. My goal is to include the GPS coördinates for each shot. I am using a twenty area break-down determined from the Texas Department of Public Safety website. (1)

I am starting in Area 20 which includes:
